We will need new passports too, I hope it isn’t as onerous a task as yours is. Thanks for a the chuckles from your tale!
1 year agoGreat! We’ll be in touch.
1 year agoJuly? If so, I/we would love to meet up! Let’s email or text (my number is the same) b
1 year agoThanks for the offer, Jacquie. We will be coming through Vancouver, but we booked our own lodging so we have evidence of our travel plans to display at our passport renewal appointment. We’ll be in Vancouver (Langley, actually) on the 10th and 11th, so if you’re around we might meet up somewhere.
1 year agoWhat a great day! It sounds like you have a strong start on the new plan for Spain and life in Portland is fun again. And a fabulous ride to boot.
1 year agoUsing RideWithGPS. One of its options is to create what it calls an Event, which is a set of routes. I created an event for the tour, created a different route for each travel day of the tour, and added them all to the event. One of the options for an event is to display all of the routes on a single map. They show up in different colors. It’s a useful planning tool, giving you the ability to see the big picture.
1 year agoWhat App do you (and others) use to make this map showing day-by-day progress in different colours? Thanks!
1 year agoKeep us posted, you are welcome anytime. We will be home until Aug 22.
1 year agoYup. Not going to happen (on that date at least), as we realized just today when we finally got a passport renewal appointment. More to come.
1 year agoWe are expecting you July 11th???
1 year agoOh, Boise! Do you two live in Boise? We’ll have to think about that.
1 year agoHi guys, come stay longer visiting us in Boise.
1 year agoYup, MSP is still on the plan. We’ll be staying there three nights - arriving 9/09, leaving for Bilbao on 9/12. We won’t be unpacking the bikes, but if you and the Feeshko are around we definitely want to get together. We’ll be in touch when it gets closer.
And you’re right - the surgery options available now are pretty astonishing.
Good to see you have a medical plan that will, for the most part, accommodate your cycling plan. Hopefully, Minnesota is still on the table for this summer.
My 87-year-old dad had an aortic valve replacement surgery via the groin two months ago. Within 24 hours, he was pretty much back to normal. On the drive back from the hospital, he insisted on stopping for a Big Mac and milkshake at McDonalds. Since then, he's been doing three days a week of rehab and his new valve is getting rave reviews from all his doctors. It's amazing what those surgeons can do these days.
It’s really pretty straight forward as long as you’re not in a time crunch. Knowing what we do now, we’d probably have applied for renewals early last winter, long in advance of when the new ones were needed.
