A smile-worthy scene!
1 year agoWell, there’s a concept. Actually it was there and I’m sure we’d have made use of it if we’d known it was missing.
1 year agoThat’s what it looks like to me also. Maybe it’s a community facility of some kind.
1 year agoLooks like a wonderful start to your trip! But you'd better put that spare tile in your wallet :-)
1 year agoVery fancy seasonal produce stand?
1 year agoWe have been seeing endless fields of sunflowers all along our route. Wonder when , and how, they get harvested.
1 year agoNever was there but I'm putting it on my list.
1 year agoTake it easy, Scott... the climbs will come and go, just do them at a relaxed pace. It's great to see you both out there.
1 year agoI really enjoy sitting inside and watching it rain. "Snug" is just the right word.
1 year agoScott and Rachael - it looks like a great tour. It's not about the numbers, it is the wonderful experiences that matter most. I am learning from your ride today and will be reviewing our tour plan for a ride that we will be doing in this area a month from now. Thank you for your blog.
1 year agoSo glad you are off to a good start and here is hoping things continue well. It may be a short tour, but it sure sounds sweet.
1 year agoDeGaulle was the starting and ending point of our first tour of Europe, 30 years ago. It’s hard to believe that we just biked directly to the airport then and getting a bike box at the counter. I can’t imagine doing that now.
1 year agoThanks, Suzanne. I wish you could be here too. Have you ever visited this region? And in spite of the passing thunderstorms the weather is quite promising now. It feels like we’re here at a very good time.
1 year agoI should have included a photo of it ‘in port’. It is flush with the pavement and looks like driving onto a small ferry.

Certainly. It’s so therapeutic to just sit there and watch and listen to the cycle of life play out before your eyes.
