Words to live by, no matter where you find yourself. That's why I go on bike tours, of course.
Keep an eye peeled for Greg Garceau- he's known to frequent roads like that one. You never know where or when he'll turn up.
1 year agoBut not horrid-looking, at least from that vantage point and the comfort of my office chair and computer screen. They make excellent defense against airborne Rockydarts®️.

but doesn't include Spain in its native range. Could easily have been introduced, of course. I'm not particularly confident in my diagnosis but didn't find many other credible candidates in my ten minutes of dilatory searching.
Judging by the character of the earth, it looks like "Rocky's World".

As a kid in Mojave, that would have been a superhighway for my bike! The normal was double track abandoned stagecoach route/jeep trails that turned into sand swamps at the bottom of every ravine. Either that or Sierra Highway with its 6 inch shoulder to the right of the white line.
