And with good reason, apparently: looking at Google Maps I can see that many of those aircraft have clearly been decommissioned and are in long-term storage. Some are missing wings and/or rear stabilizers, others are bereft of engines, yet others have no nose cones.

I was really pleased with this photo by the way, because I took it with my iPad. I’m really impressed by how good the cameras are getting on all these devices.
