Even so, she didn't *have* to smash the plate to make her point.
1 year agoBrightly-lit golden grain and road stripes against a dark cloudy sky and dark pavement- oh, the drama!
1 year agoThanks, Bruce. I’m so glad we made it down to this region. It’s been a real revelation.
1 year agoThe whole using your key to lock yourself in and out of your room has always struck me as a uniquely stupid way to operate a lock. I’ve never quite understood why Europeans think that’s a good idea.
1 year agoYes, great story. But the photos recently have been unbelievably beautiful. I've really been enjoying the countryside and all the stone buildings. I mean, you have showed lots of that in the past but lately they seem to be extra beautiful.
1 year agoYes, I doubt we’ll ever see the equal to that memorable mishap. Still, we try.
1 year agoIt does, doesn’t it! That’s why I bothered to label it.
1 year agoSomehow, I knew there would be more to the key-hanging-out-of-the-pocket story. The last time I ever heard of somebody getting locked INTO a room, it also involved Rocky . . . and a remote restroom . . . and a pocket knife . . .

1 year agoYour babysitting story reminded me that I also had a babysitting gig when I was in my early teens. The two hellions in my charge were the son and daughter of my parents' best friends. They never listened to a word I said, never obeyed my commands, and ran roughshod over my easy-going manner. I certainly never got free time to listen to "Love Nest" or any other album. Somehow, those wild kids figured out how to look like innocent, sleeping angels minutes before their parents came home. Looking back, I can't believe I agreed to babysit for them more than once. I guess the wage of something like $1.00 per hour was pretty attractive back then.
1 year agoThanks, Patrick. Memory is so remarkable. That’s over sixty years go!
1 year agoNice knockers!
1 year agoYour first paragraph! Intriguing, honest, funny and perhaps the beginning of a great short story. I literally laughed out loud.
1 year agoHar, har. No though, I think that’s a dog-leg array, as I read up on it in my array ID guide.

Quite the panoramic tableau.
