Definitely is a different scenario when there are a lot of people and bikes! It was quite busy, but, as the Dutch do..well organized.

Thank you for helping me to relive my own adventures in this area again; within 6 months of my own cycling trip! However, you were able to stop and take wonderful photos..mine are “in my head”..

It’s definitely a challenge you won’t forget! First time I did this I could not see anything as it was SO foggy!

Regarding the lack of bathrooms in the Netherlands.. The Dutch are born to cycle , not wear a helmet, sunglasses, or sunscreen despite the fact most are fair skinned, blonde hair and would seem to be the prime candidate for skin cancers! The bathroom story is such because they are so used to riding for long periods of time, unlike Americans, they don’t think about it! Seriously!
I had a long conversation with a third generation native of the Netherlands who informed me of this fact. I take her word for it.

Aha! This is about where I (tried) to veer out of an oncoming cyclist (she was in the wrong) and unable to jump off the bike fast enough, the left pedal and the back of my left leg were “joined”. ugh. 6 months later and I still have the scar to prove it.
