You are some of the lucky ones, without the ties of real estate to keep pulling you back unless you want to be back. And yes, that Hoopoe is a beauty. Glad your day had something wonderful in it.
1 week agoIt is all so incomprehensible. It feels like we’ve lost our home and like we’ve never fully understood it. On the plus side, our decision to sell our home and go migrant seven years ago looks better every year. We’re personally fortunate to have as many options as we do.
And how about that hoopoe, eh?
Our hearts break for you, our daughter in Seattle, and the sane Americans stuck on the sinking ship. It will be interesting, in a ghoulish way, to see how this all pans out.
1 week agoOh. Well, yes that looks like a mistake alright. Blame the editor.
1 week agoDoing a loop ride? you seem to have crossed it twice. ;^)
1 week ago The one consolation we have is that we live in New Zealand.
And you’re very welcome to our spare bed! It’s a long way from Europe though. I think the better idea is you buy a place in Spain that we can all crash in! Ha!
It’s grim alright, but not news to me at least. I woke up about every half hour last night to check the status so I’ve seen it coming ever since the early returns.
Say, do you have a spare bedroom down there?
Hey Scott & Rachael, you're not going to enjoy what you see when you look at the news this morning. Grim. Perhaps you need to start looking for a bolt hole somewhere there.
1 week agoThat is so cool!
1 week agoOr really dumb!!!!
1 week agoThe views were pretty spectacular alright. And we were really lucky with the weather and picked the best day for it.
1 week agoYes, I know you did and had you two in mind when I was climbing. Courageous!
1 week agoNot in general, although I saw that it was a requirement on some of the Greek islands in the past for tourism reasons. It’s a tradition to whitewash houses in the Mediterranean - southern Spain, southern Italy and Greece - that goes back centuries, I think. Primarily it is to reflect the heat, but also whitewash was used as a disinfectant for disease control.
1 week agoOh but the views!!!!!
