And sadly you can’t get one any more.
6 months agoIt"s clearly French, but could be a Mallard- Muscovy

6 months agoOh, I know..it’s French Canadian ;)
6 months agoSo, how were they? Really…
6 months agoIt is a good idea to check the pads from time to time to remove small slivers of metal from the rims before they gouge larger slivers.
I prefer salmon/pink pads which are slightly softer, water quicker but IMHO provide better braking.
What a wonderful day!
6 months agoBonne route, Scott and Sharon!
6 months agoThe building could now be vacant. Maybe we could rent an apartment in there. When we stayed in the Templar house, part had been for horses, upstairs for grain and hay, and part for people.
6 months agoYes! When your life is your bike, having the bike be broken is specially no fun! How about this weird epilog: Without the expense of a new bike the P950 camera for no good reason got back on the birthday agenda. I put it in the shopping cart of London Drugs, a store chain you may remember from Victoria, but my finger hesitated on the "Buy" button. Now CBC reports that London Drugs was hacked, and they have closed all their stores (temporarily!?). But I had given them our remaining good VISA number for online purchasing (earlier one got hacked while on this trip, and we blocked it). So no new birthday camera yet!
6 months agoWow, Rambouillet is considered Paris in Paris-Brest, but Rambouillet to Paris was a whole day odyssey for us!
6 months agoRambouillet actually has genuine cycling significance. Every 4 years Paris-Brest-Paris starts there at the chatea. It is the crowning event for Randonneuring. Randonneurs have to do a series of increasingly longer distance rides under a certain time cutoff in order to qualify. However, it is not a race. More of a very large group ride. It’s not my cup of tea, but I have several friends involved in it who are quite passionate about it. There seems to be an appealing sense of community about it.
6 months agoHappy birthday! Glad you have a functioning bike.
