Andrea Brown commented on Day 21: Malaga to Cordoba: PART 1

We were sitting in an Indian tea shop in Bangkok and the tv was on with an Indian news station playing a very similar protest nonstop. Farmers were protesting by blocking traffic with their tractors. This footage played on an endless loop the entire time we were in that teashop.

Dodie here. I can always recognize Seville oranges because they were available for only a month or so in January at home. I would buy a large quantity and make marmalade. It is the traditional English bitter orange marmalade, yummy.

With that lumpy, wrinkly looking skin, she's probably right... When I was a new student at ASU in Tempe, those things kept me alive for about a week while I had no money... Sour like a lemon! We juiced some and called it "go juice" because if you were drowsy and took a swig, you were instantly ready to go...

Fortunately we were given a flat rate before we started off in the morning. Good thing too, because the 2 to 3 hour trip turned into a 5 or more hour slog. If it had been by the hour that would have just about doubled the price.

So are you paying for your ride by the hour?

Google Lens reveals that this type of Mediterranean scene is a genre, with lots of examples in a similar style. Like Elvis on black velvet!

Agreed it is! Local and farmers market strawberries ( anywhere) are the best selections!

I wonder how many people had to be “rescued” because “Oh, I didn’t see the warning sign”..

They do look like unripe berries, or maybe the inside of a California strawberry. Give us red through and through every time.

I'm not a fan of California strawberries because the ones we get here are often white inside--and tasteless. With strawberries, local is best because the ones grown to ship exchange taste for durability.

Send in Dodie to find out! :) …PS. Why is cinnamon for sale above it?

These “pine berries” or “pink berry” strawberries were new in 2023 here in Santa Cruz. They had a too mild flavor and too high of a price for my “tastes”…
