The place I lived in Tempe while attending ASU had 2 enormous pines in the front yard, and for a few days each spring the yard looked like this!

In the Netherlands the street sweepers have a “pre-sweep” crew that does just that! Sweeps the street free of debris before the water hits the pavements!

These street cleaners are all over Europe. Must be why all the sidewalks are wet, but clean, in the early morning.

What are the letters atop the rolled door shutters? Appears to be TYLTY. Is it tilty time? Or could it be a name? Even the red color markings above the letters are difficult to figure out. Thanks!

Ah yes, there it is as promised.

Here’s the photo I meant. The brown banded bird to the right of the spoonbill is a shelduck, the other two with brown are shovelers. Note the difference in the brown patterns.

Actually, I think these are northern shovelers. You’ve got some shelducks below though, and one photo with both to make it easier to see the difference.

In today's post you will see the carriages being installed. Yeah, we're with you. Most carnival rides make us nauseous too.

Is this Ferris Wheel a ride? I don't see any carriages on it. Ferris Wheels are one of the few rides I can endure at a carnival without getting nauseous. I do okay on carousels too. Any ride that turns me upside down, forget it.

Sometimes ya just gotta ride your bike up a dune . . . and then walk yer bike back down.
