I like this profile. It looks like a city skyline.

I remember long skinny strawberries in the Perigord area which were so so good. I am hoping they will be available when we pass by south of there in June...

Thank you for the clarification! This is why birds are not something I try to follow as you do. Too confusing!

Make sure you have long pants on or use a sack as I suspect that slide is hot when the sun is on it in the afternoon…

See the comment above. I’m pretty sure the signs are wrong, and these are black-headed gulls.

Black-headed. Laughing gulls are pretty similar, but not hard to distinguish if you know what to watch for. Laughing gulls have significantly darker mantles, and an all black head (not white at the back of the neck, like these). Also, laughing gulls are pretty uncommon in Europe, especially inland like this. They’re primarily a North American bird.

Hi,
The paint used is called « grisaille » in French, and is fired into the glass. It comes in many colors, but mostly black seems to be used. On the other hand, the use of silver salts will produce a yellow staining of the glass like in the capitals of the pillars on either side of St. Sol.

Hi,
It’s a mechanized planter. This one looks like it’s being used for onions, but it could be anything from garlic to potatoes.
Cheers

Sometimes you can get the price cheaper if you book direct with the hotel. Other times it is the same. The only way to tell is to visit the hotel website and look up their room prices. And even then you might not be able to determine the direct with hotel price.
