2 years agoTrujillo is a bit off our route and we have fallen a bit behind on our schedule with all the tourist stuff we have been doing. We need to have left Santiago just after the middle of May so any side trips are going to have to be considered carefully. Right now we just want to make up a bit of time and Leigh has just commented that "we can't go to every pretty little town".

2 years agoHe's younger than us :-). His unicycle was interesting in that it had handlebars, disk brakes and a rack attached to the forks so it isn't the usual type used by clowns at the circus.

2 years agoFor a brief moment I was completely unsentimental and thought "I'm not going back to fetch it" but the look in Leigh's eyes made it impossible to leave behind. My biggest fear was that someone might have picked it up and we would never find it again.

It’s an Hórreo, a style of granary characteristic of Galicia, Asturias and northern Portugal. Typically built of granite or wood, they’re elevated with rat guards at the top of the posts to keep the rodents out, and slatted for ventilation.
