YOU ARE DA MAN !!! Talking about "kicking in the door ... " WOW !! Given your many days of rain I expected to see moss growing on your head or at least in your facial hair. The kid and family comment, I get it and I feel it and i wonder how many opportunities those folks had to make better decisions and ... At least to me it speaks volumes that people are willing to risk death to get into this country (legally or illegally) because they know there is no other country that provides so many chances to succeed if you are willing to work and do the right thing (ok, a lot of folks also succeed illegally). I'll tell you stories about my son and his foster children adoption challenges when we meet up next time. CONGRATS on stepping (riding) into Maryland.

1 year agoNah ... i was doing my workout for the Garage of Excellence and listening to mood music; AC/DC Highway to Hell and I would think, based on your MANY rain comments, that was a song you must have sung to yourself more than once. ::-)
1 year agoI was remembering that Italian restaurant a day or so ago …. Thinking how the heck did he get us there and would I have gone the same way if alone? Probably not, but glad we went that way…

1 year agoTire wires... Sneaky devils! A few decades back on a bike touring site (now defunct "Phred") someone posted advice to carry a wad of cotton in the patch kit, and wipe it back and forth inside the tire when it flats. Fibers catch on the wire making it easy to find, and no blood either.

Weekends, the dragsters are screaming down the strip! Right beside the trail... on the other side of the fence. Of course, it costs to go in and sit on the bleachers.
