Thanks for sharing. I wish the weather could have been better for you. An adventure is still an adventure despite the weather and sometimes because of the weather.

1 year agoBy titanium I assume you mean Clunk, the knee prosthesis. Well, it did pretty good. Pain free? No, but most of the pain came when I had to push up the steep hill. Riding was generally pretty good. Clunk did not like the angle needed to lean over the bars while struggling up the 10-17% grades. Anti-inflammatory meds helped!
1 year agoSorry. I should have told you our route. I would have loved to met you on the way. You were a great support on this journey.
1 year agoThank you. Congratulations on your tours also. Time to go again!

1 year agoWoW!!!!! That’s all I can say. WoW!!!!
Congratulations on a great ride.
Thanks for sharing! And think about writing a few words later after the dust settles (or rather, washes off).
1 year agoHaving seen pictures of you throughout the tour, I think the beard looks good, but when it's shorter. I also think a goatee would work well on you. The hair looks better shorter, IMHO. Also, love the titanium stud... something to remember the tour by.
1 year agoYou creep u were 5 minutes from my house when you crossed the ferry. I could have come and met you. I thought it would take you another whole day coming from Annapolis. Still glad you got home safe. You remember the statistics from the ER on when accidents occur!! Roxanne is an angel …..now enjoy each other…..should be an awesome reunion!!
1 year agoWas a great tour! As an older guy contemplating titanium, I was interested in how it would go.
By the way, your title for today brought a chuckle. Last Dec. driving through CO with my daughter, we saw a horse lift its tail and plop, plop, fizz, fizz... I started singing the song and my daughter was hysterical with laughter for a long time! She did not know of the relief song!
Thanks for all the great posts!
I remember hiking that area of the AT back in the early 2000s, and seeing all the paw paw trees, thinking I would sure like to come through in early Sep. when they are ripe! The tunnel was a nice cool hike too! Almost chilly even.

x 2 THANK YOU for taking the time to share your adventure in words/pics. It was amazing, interesting, fascinating and, at times, I was envious of your wanderings and side trips. However, I was quickly brought back to reality when you started (it seemed like every other entry) talking about getting wet and cold AGAIN. Congrats to you and all those who set out to do the extraordinary and make it seem "ordinary". What you (and your fellow travelers) have accomplished is the stuff of great stories and free beers at the bar. AGAIN, THANK YOU for sharing and for having the stones to start AND finish this great adventure.
