the rain we had Wednesday night was brutal. sad that Michigan couldn't have more pleasant weather for your visit. :(

Aarrgghh... going into withdrawals while you guys go on hiatus. Very wonderful though that you have made the adjustment to The Plan for the auspicious birthday. Made me think about myself on a possible 100th birthday and who might show up.... people yet unborn perhaps.

It was. The camera didn’t capture it, but huge fish were swimming around in there.

There’s a street in Berlin named Nimrod, after a mythical hero mentioned in the Bible and Koran. In Watersmeet, Michigan, the high school team is named for Nimrod, the mighty hunter, son of Cush, and great-grandson of Noah. The interesting part of the story might be how “Nimrod” became pejorative.

When I was a surveyor for the USFS, the person who stood and merely held a measuring rod to site upon was called the Nimrod. It was the first time I heard the word. Luckily, I was hardly ever called to be the Nimrod.... a mind numbing job.

When my kids were ages 5 and 7, a group of friends with young children joined us to form a hiking group for the summer. We hiked every week, and the kids all enjoyed the time together. (So distracted and content were they, that they hardly noticed they were walking several miles!) The kids called the group Nimrods Hike The Highways-- But We Hike the Trails! A nimrod is an inept person.

I never would have guessed that a bicycle had a transmission. But then again my last bike had training wheels ;)

Hi, Glad the cold and sniffles were easily conquered. Hope your mechanical issues are quickly resolved too. Aruna.

We are waiting for the new transmission as I type this. And eat a soft roll with peanut butter.

This little motel was like the 60s. We enjoyed its lack of pretension - and decent rate.
