Looks like a fantastic ride, Scott and Jackie! I don't know whether you will see/receive this, but if you do please write me (first initial+last name - with no space) at Yahoo. I attempted to write Jackie on Yahoo, but was unsuccessful.

Goodness, that was a remarkable trip! Loved reading all that you wrote. The descriptions were some good prose. Loved hearing about the food you ate. That lobster actually made my mouth water. Remember having it in abundance at Julian's graduation.
I'm a few days late reading this and you are probably home getting ready for company by now. I want to hear about your drive 🏡 home.
See you soon!

Yay! You did it! It has been fun following your blog. Thanks for sharing your experience. When you first told me your plans to ride across the country on bikes I was skeptical. Not something I'm likely to do in my lifetime but your determination was inspiring every step of the way. And fresh lobster at the end of the trail...what a way to celebrate. You guys ROCK!

5 years agoCongrats on a lovely ride. Thanks for taking us along. I enjoyed your journal a lot.
5 years agoDon't see family resemblance between Scott and Sam. I think you're the lucky one - but your grandsons are fortunate to have t-shirts with their namesake.

Some AustralIan States have introduced a mandatory 1.5 metre (about 5 feet) rule but in my home state of Victoria it is advisory and not mandatory. Many motorist observe the rule but a few don't.

Trying to see the principle here, if there is one. What can the logic be for giving a discount if you buy only one item rather than more? Typically discounts come when more items are bought. But is there a logic that would apply in some circumstances that would warrant a discount for buying only one item?
5 years agoWe were happy to save ten bucks and didn’t question the logic. Yes, you’d think a discount would be in order for a longer stay that would bring in more profit. But maybe the manager thought we’d use fewer resources during a shorter stay?

5 years ago"The manager gave us a $10 discount on the $60 price, since we would only spend one night." What is the logic here?
