We will be around in July. It would be great to meet you both and have you stay with us! We are lazy and going to copy bunch of your Vercors, Tarn, Lot and Pyrenees routes. We start in Geneva.

We’ve always been ridiculously optimistic, for better or worse.

Funny I was going to say the same thing about the traveller's cheques.

Hey, Kristen! Thanks for the read. I’m so excited to hear that you two are hitting the road again. I’ve been wondering about you two, hoping you’d re-up for another season. Anxious to see where you’re going to take us this time.

If our plans hold, we’ll be up your way on a road trip with the car this summer, sometime in late July. If you’re around we’ll have to finally meet up.

Rachael and Scott,
Lyle and I are getting excited for our next long trip in a couple of weeks, which has me looking at blogs so I can see where we are going! I can across this one and it is taking me back to my bike trip in 1981 or 82. I haven't narrowed down the exact year yet! I was not as wise as yourselves and did not keep a journal.
I do know that my two girlfriends and I had very little money, and it was raining all day when we were in Bar Harbour. We were in a pub and the bar keep kindly let us nurse one draft beer each for most of the afternoon as it was miserable out. The sun eventually camp out and we got on our way. Nice place though from what I remember. Your trip is bringing back fond memories. Thank you

Be careful biking down that pass! You don’t need to be repeating our experience.

Hi,
Love this!
Found it researching adjusting our route from Lebanon across NH into Maine.

Isn’t that the truth! I love looking back at these old journals and being reminded of how it used to be.

So I’ve heard. I hope so - after all this time, it still scares me thinking about getting off that bridge. Our cycling career could easily have ended right there.

We may find out before that long. We’ve been talking about filling a Schengen Gap with a ride down the east coast from Montreal or Quebec City again one of these next summers. I’d love to cycle the same country again, 30 years later.

Your experience biking the same route today would be very different since there are now wonderful separate bike paths in to Montreal and a bike path over the bridge as well. Montreal has become a very bike friendly city in recent years.
