You've timed your visit perfectly! We walked the Costwold Way in late June and I was amazed by the number of blackberry flowers along the path. We were 6 weeks too early...dang!

As philistine Americans, we're always amused at how verbose British signage is. Many examples, including "Way Out" instead of "Exit" (one of our favorites (favourites)). In this case, they've definitely got themselves into a linguistic pickle, haven't they? Unintentionally hilarious.

Thanks Scott- just don’t overdo the canals. Lots in these parts. Interested in your Wales cycling- we have friends we always visit in Montgomery and cycled down there in 2016. Also Hadrians Wall- found it a misty place in parts, but a relief from UK heat in 2018. Safe travels, Michael.
