Yeah, well, imagination is not something I am always good at. I could see it when I was closer but not at a distance. It's pretty clear in this shot, though.

Thanks Wayne. I'm not a fan of $1000 cameras that can also - almost incidentally and as an afterthought - make phone calls, so my camera is still preferred to the phone.

I have my micro SD card in a standard SD adapter, so the actual memory card is not subject to so much mechanical risk.

As far as I can tell there is no port on my camera to attach a USB cable so that's not an option.

Incidentally Google automatically copies files from the card to my Photos account anyhow so I get a backup copy with zero effort on my part.

I think that constantly swapping SD cards between devices is a prescription for failure. The people who complain about corrupted SD cards seem to frequently move them from device to device, causing both mechanical stress and potential static damage.

I use a USB cable to transfer files between devices. My Canon camera has Wi-Fi, but setting up the wireless connection in my Canon camera is much more difficult than plugging in a USB cable.

For the last couple years I have taken most photos on my phone because I get better results with the phone camera than my $700 Canon camera. The difference is the spectacular image processing in the phones, especially when looking into the sun. With backlighting conditions the phone's photos are vastly superior to the camera's photos.

A few of your photos certainly show why Montana calls itself "Big Sky" country.
Regarding the huge flies on your previous day: if that happens again, consider harnessing them alive and using them for towing assistance!
Glad you found water when running low!

Keith, loving your blog! I’ve spent the last week catching up. This day’s 81 miles and an entry- wow!. Mark and I just returned from 5 weeks in 5 places in Europe that included a short bout of Covid.
Your photos of the west remind me of our trips years ago (car).

These days, tipis are often made of canvas and they’re used by quite a few folks. Mark’s cousin in Texas has one, mainly for camping.
