Agree, warmshowers works very well in Western Europe, USA and Canada.
This family and our WS hosts the following night, cycle toured with their kids! I think how I can barely manage myself, and to also have to look after kids is amazing.

That’s so interesting about the roses in vineyards. I’ve always wondered, but never researched it. A reason like this one never occurred to me.

I remember Chalon! We were here 27 years ago, on a ride from Prague to Paris. We weren’t carrying along any lawn chairs as I recall now. No beef stroganoff either.

Oh, wait. I see he’s using the chair again. So it’s all been worth it after all.

I’m amazed by the things Rachael carries for months only to use maybe once at the end. First a camp chair, and now this?

Gray heron. Interesting birds, and they often pose well.

While fishing a few years ago, there was its American cousin, the great blue heron near me, and when I caught a small bluegill, I tossed it in that direction. It stepped forward and gobbled the fish. I repeated that about 5 times or so till it was within 6 feet! Even after all those fish, it was eyeing me as if to beg for more!
