Your narrative states you’re catching the ferry to Palermo, but your map shows you landing in Trapani?
1 year agoWe ran into them in Winthrop the year you did the NT. They were a few days ahead of you at that point.
1 year agoI can't wait to read this journal!
1 year agoThanks for the update. We have Susan Carpenter with us in Tucson this week, and we were discussing your schedule last night and wondering if she’d cross paths with you in Morocco or if we might in Sicily, Basilicata or Puglia.
1 year agoWe have our dates and ferries booked
March 29 Tanger to Barcelona
April 2 Barcelona to Porto Torres
April 8 Cagliari to Palermo
This looks so awesome. I wish we were going along, but we can’t be two places at once. If you pick this option, I suggest that you consider biking to Ohrid by way of Lake Prespa rather than Pogradec. Our day ride to Prespa and back from Korce was a real highlight of that tour: https://www.cycleblaze.com/journals/greece3/lake-prespa/.
1 year agoNope zero for ten. Sorry to be so useless.
1 year agoNo, we’ll be home before you. Our Schengen time is up June 13th. We don’t have a schedule in mind for after we get back, but I imagine we’ll be coming through in late June.
1 year agoJust realized, we will be home (June 18th) and you guys will probably still be in Europe, we will need a electronic meetup to celebrate July 8th (our 28th)

Have you stayed at any of these bike hotels? https://ciclabilisiciliane.com/en/bike-hotels-in-sicily/
1 year agoThat is a must do! Let the planning begin!
1 year agoWe were thinking maybe sometime around July 8th for a joint anniversary celebration.
1 year agoNot the Tyrrhenian Coast, which we’ve biked along most of in previous tours. We’ll be biking along parts of the Adriatic coast, but only north of Bari.

If you can afford a few days on this one, you might bike inland from Cefalu up through the Madonie, and then east on SS120 to Randazzo. It’s an gorgeous ride the whole way, and much quieter than through the coastal resorts.
