What a gorgeous photo!
3 years agoHi Jen, agree, this is the best part of warmshowers seeing local life. We've been commenting with Scott and Rachael as they are now doing a bit part of our plan on rails to trails....and realized you guys are friends.
We are a about 5 days to Minnesota
I was just looking at the ACA route this afternoon and am not quite sure which route to take. Seems like I will have some decisions up ahead. I have been posting updates on instagram at @davidsbiketrip. Thanks for all the info! Looking forward to crossing paths with everyone that has decided to bike on this route. What a peculiar idea we all are pursuing. Adventure? Solitude? Discovery? Cold beverages?

3 years agoHi David,
What will be your route from Jordan? We are doing basically the old NorthernTier route on highway 2. We are going to Grand Forks, then aim for the Paul Bunyan Trail....If you are doing the newer route, there are the O'Brien's (metal hip) the Smith's (two far) and one other cyclist we cycled with Robert ferrari (northern tier with a purpose, on crazyguyonabike) that you would probably cross paths.
Happy travels, let us know if there are questions we may answer on the route.

This is my first day on CycleBlaze after a recommendation from Andy Henry of the Dying Like a Warrior duo. I am headed east on the Northern Tier route and am really enjoying reading your entries! Such great information. I am in Jordan this evening. Maybe our paths will cross! All the best, David A.

3 years agoA month on the road! You’re a day ahead of us - we close out our first tomorrow. You’re right, it is interesting settling into a new routine like this. Simpler in many ways.
3 years agoWhat a great experience! Very cool that you got to ride with Swede to drop off the bulls.
And very interesting about the chickens ...
Took you long enough, LL. The suspense has been unbearable.

3 years agoOkay, the Lightning Librarian (whoa) has tracked down her distant electric auntie. Blue Lightning Brown was a 64-year-old female from Roosevelt County who died in 1920. It’s unclear what her tribal affiliation was but that is information that would be on the tribal rolls.

This was my childhood, only it was logging equipment (with giant old-growth logs) instead of tractors.
