Scott Fenwick commented on Saint-Jean-de-Luz to Zarautz

A great ride today. Saint-Jean-de-Luz / Hendaye / Jaizkibel / San Sebastián. Wonderful memories for me. But an elevator and a ferry. Missed them both. I will need to try again.

We had clear weather for the ride today. I suspect it gets socked in a lot. When Al and his friends were trying to ride Jaizkibel as a day ride, they were prevented from doing so because the road was closed due to no visibility.

Yes....looking towards Hendaye? Hope you get clear weather for the view. We were socked in by clouds when we were there.

Nope. I shot this on my Olympus camera with its usual aspect ratio, then processed it in Lightroom—including cropping from top and bottom.

Nice wide shot - did you shoot this as a panarama?

Yeah, with a closer look, Scott seems to have this one. Amazing how closely they resemble each other. I have actually looked up Med. sea holly for someone else a while back. If only I could remember a portion of what I dig up!

Thanks for keeping me on track Scott!

It was definitely a wow! I only saw the one. Perhaps I should have laid my bike down and gotten a better angle!

I think Scott is closer; there are some species in Europe. I think it’s Eryngium bourgatii, the Mediterranean sea holly, also known as Pyrenean eryngo

Wow orchid! Looks like a pyramidal orchid.

Looks very similar, but since that is South American native, and globe thistles are European, seems globe thistles might be more likely.
