Funny how those big climbs look so daunting when you're thinking about it but are doable if you just go at your own pace! As Scott said, you are in a fantastic part of the world for cycling. I want to go back!
2 years agoCongratulations! It is astonishing how everything can change in only 20 miles, isn’t it?
We had rain in Luchon also, So we didn’t see much but the inside of our room and the restaurants. I was thinking we’d take an OAB to Portillon on our layover day, but staying warm and dry won the day.
Anxious to see which way you go next. You can’t go wrong. Such awesomeness in all directions!
Congratulations Ann and Steve! You two have become quite the mountain goats...well done 🚴
2 years agoLong tunnels certainly are nerve wracking! One to put behind you and one you won’t forget.
2 years agoI like that the sign advising motorists about cyclists is repeated inside!

2 years agoPhew! Congratulations, and thanks for scoping this one out for us. We’ll pass.
2 years agoTunnels are sooooo loud. We wear earplugs. It helps when the wee Fiat approaching sounds like an eighteen wheeler. Glad you are through.
2 years agoThanks for the update. Tunnels are freaky and every car sounds like a Mac truck 🛻 is coming 😱
2 years agoHa ha thanks Scott. It was a pretty simple meal although the mushrooms were delicious.
Northern NB faired quite well this time. We lost a lot of sand. Hopefully some of it will come back. Thanks for asking.
We made it through! Thank goodness! It was exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. Grateful not many vehicles and they came slowly and in bunches so we could stop and let them pass before we continued on. When there were no cars coming we cycled fast. Since it was down hill we did the 5km in 15 mins.
2 years agoGood luck with the tunnel tomorrow!
2 years agoAnn, your amazing culinary skills are showing. Looks delicious. Following weather news at home and hoping your home in NB has been spared from the devastating storm.

Like Banff! Insightful comparison. Sort of our reaction too.
