Hi Steve and Ann - we are flying into Barcelona mid September and going to have a second look at your blog for ideas. It sure looked like a great trip. Our initial thoughts are to spend some time in Mallorca at either the beginning or end of our trip. Just about to look at accommodation in Barcelona for a few days when we arrive. Is there a hotel there you would recommend?

1 year agoHi Geoff
Thanks for reading and commenting on our trip blogs. Having cycled many of the same areas, I am sure you will agree it is beautiful countryside. We too will be interested in a house exchange. Perhaps in France too or Italy. We shall see. It is a great way to make the trip interesting by spending more time in one place and more affordable.
Thank you for sharing this excellent way to store your touring bikes in Europe - I have been wondering how that could be done. Also enjoyed reading your journals for your 2 trips this year. We rode many of the same areas in Sept/Oct 2021 and 2022. After a house exchange in Rennes, we had intended to ride the Pyrenees West to East but when the forecast looked poor we hopped a plane to the Balearics from Nantes.
2 years agoYes, with kids traveling too, it gives a wonderful plus to our touring. I would love to have the opportunity to visit offspring in Italy!

Thanks for reading our blog, I just looked at your England trip 2014. I look forward to re-reading your blog this winter as we plan on cycling to Oxford from Toulouse in the spring.
So exciting! Such a bonus when your children study or work abroad & you're able to visit. Our daughter taught school in London, England & our son spent a term studying architecture in Ferrara, Italy. Such a fun travel experience for all!
2 years agoIt's great that you could fit in a visit to the Natural History museum. A pretty amazing place with the beautiful glass roof. We were in Oxford (with our bicycles) in 2014 and the museum had just reopened after a two-year closure. We spent half a day there.
So nice that you had such a lovely visit with your daughter!
Ha ha! Awesome! Salut!

2 years agoOh I loved this post. Our kiddos are so precious, and I am so happy you got to spend this time with your daughter. Isn’t it wonderful when those kiddos give us opportunities to travel as well?
