And I believe the original site of the zoo became the site for the Japanese Garden fifty some years ago. But I sure never knew about the bear pit.

I think you look kind of cute that way! The most important thing is what Rachael thinks, though.

Your mom was a lovely lady. And they were so lucky to be able to visit Iran then!

I like the haircut! To me, shorter means it dries faster and allows more time before I need to get it cut again.

Your Dad sounds like an interesting guy. Great that he’s doing so well. Oh, and the haircut looks fine.

FWIW I like the shorter look on you, though it does somehow give you a vaguely "harder edged" appearance.

Two decades and more ago my barber of the time was in a mood to CUT HAIR. With my consent she sheared me down to a quarter, or maybe even an eighth, of an inch on the sides; I've long since lost the ability to grow hair on the crown of my skull. I LOVED the new look: absolutely zero fuss or ado apart from daily washing with a minimum of shampoo needed.

With the advent of COVID I stopped going out for tonsorial services altogether, pressing my beard trimmer into service over the top and sides of my dome as well. One day things got a bit out of hand, with the result that I elected to shave it all off from the ears up. Having no (visible) hair up top is even better than having short hair!

But I'll never, ever lose the hair on my face. Last time that happened was March 1985.

Just different, not bad. When you smile I bet it looks great.

Side view is better than nothing. Not ugly from the side.

Dodie says-really, it is not that bad. Give it a while and it will grow on you. (Hahaha) That is the length Dodie cuts Steve's hair (and beard) before each 2-3 month trip and by the end of the tour it needs trimming again. Dodie says shorter hair makes one look younger, but who knows?

This is much progress. I do find that the route changes and the trip gets more real when I figure out where we're actually going to stay.
Congrats on fighting through the technical jungle with the new iPad. I enjoyed the view from your aerie.

Beautiful - it suits you Rachael! I should learn from your practical approach, all the layers flying around and sticking out of the helmet are not suiting me.

We start in Naples, watch the Giro, ferry to Sorrento and cycle the Amalfi coast to Salerno. We have built in time for Pompeii and Paestum…can’t wait!
