1 year agoYup. Swifts have started showing up the last few days. There are three species here - common, pallid and alpine. I’ll probably never see one still or up close, so I’m trying to see if I can figure out their differences enough for an identification.

I'll admit that thus far neither you nor Jacquie have done an adequate job of convincing me that Sicily is worth the trouble. Rather the opposite, in fact, so I'll stick to dreams of Lot and the Dordogne.

1 year agoLong ago when Bruce's dad was a perky 95 and doing the daily family email Morning Report, Bruce wrote to him from Laos and said that I was sick (food poisoning, probably). The hot-off-the-press MR headline went as follows: "Andrea is Baw Sabai" (not well). I hope you are both sabai dii again very soon.
