I’m finally doing better but I was going to have it checked today if it wasn’t better. I was worried I picked up something nasty.
1 year agoMy stomach is doing fine now. Thanks. I’m really looking forward to meeting up with you and Janos!
1 year agoWe will meet one day for sure. You are making good decisions. We too are finding we no longer can do what we could do 5 years ago....adjustments needed.
We had decided not to go inland in Sicily and slowed down ako g coast to meet up with you, so we'll be looking at that.
The main thing is you guys stay healthy!!
Visit us in Boise!
Not wanting to butt in where suggestions may not be welcome, but perhaps Rachael should visit a doctor? Sometimes these lingering digestive issues need treatment with a course of antibiotics to fully resolve. It would sure be good to have at least one of you feeling back in top form. Please, both of you, continue to be sensible and take it easy(ier). My father always said "getting old ain't for sissies", and boy was he ever right! Love and best wishes to you both, Dodie
1 year agoThanks, Ben. No, I think it’s just better to steer away from mountainous terrain. Tyrol probably isn’t quite the right plan for April, too.
1 year agoI'm sorry about the arrhythmia. I'm sure it is quite unsettling. I hope it calms down and is happy with your new plan.
Changing plans is pretty normal on a long tour, at least for us. Once everything is decided it doesn't matter one bit that everything changed.
I'm hoping everything goes well for both of you from here on.
If you end up needing something REALLY easy to pedal, South Tyrol is the place to go. Trento up to Bozen, Brixen to Bozen, Bozen to Mals, are all VERY flat. I also really enjoyed the ride up on the Ritten as well. I took the cable car up and enjoyed a wonderful day of mountain vistas without all the elevation gain theatrics a couple summers ago.
1 year agoHaving looked recently myself, I was wondering if Basilicata was a bit ambitious. Glad you have the wisdom to change plans. If you are passing near Guagnano, I can't recommend Corte deli Furesi enough.
1 year agoHealth first! Hope you both feel yourselves again soon. Glad you're excited about your new plans!
1 year agoWow! How exciting! Good luck with all that logistical work as you chill out and regain health. We look forward to seeing this new part of Italy.
1 year agoLooks like you have worked out a good alternative plan. Canceling and creating new routes and bookings is a heck of a lot of work. You two are so good at working out the logistics. Hope Rachael's stomach is back to normal soon. That can be so debilitating.
1 year agoI do feel for you Scott it is that feeling of insecurity Once you have your ablation you will be a new person. Your new plans sound really great
1 year agoSurprisingly, it wasn’t that tough a decision for us. We change directions pretty easily and don’t look back much. So flighty, those Andersons!
1 year agoThe big difference is that we are not having any health issues. That could, of course, change at any time.

I love having flexibility and some of the best places we’ve discovered were a result of changing our plans.
