I doubt that there’s any connection unless someone seeing one was inspired to create the other. You’re right though, they make a nice set. I’m hoping to see a Maserati flower planter next.

This is as close as we got, but I think it has to be poppies. Nothing else here grows and looks like that at this season at least.

Is that red patch a field of poppies? Whatever it is, it's an attractive splotch of color from this angle and distance.

Fascinating idea for a table, and a nice corollary to the bicycle-supported table of a couple days ago. I wonder whether there's a link or connection between them?

"It is an amber, intriguing and intoxicating beer..."

Even humble brews like Budweiser are intoxicating if you have enough...

Hey, great job! I wondered if it was an orchid but couldn’t find it. Interesting that the second of the two photos in the first link was taken in the Gargano.

Sad to hear that this happened (again) but it looks like a nice place to be for a few days.

That’s why I always let Al go first! And then follow his route exactly if it was okay.

If you have to be stuck somewhere you could do worse. Cambridge, Idaho comes to mind... although I really didn't dislike the time I spent there.

Seems like maybe Serapias vomeracea (Long-lipped Tongue Orchid)?

https://www.first-nature.com/flowers/serapias-vomeracea.php

According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serapias_vomeracea:

Distribution
The species has a Mediterranean- Atlantic distribution from Charente in the north and is widespread from south-central Europe, the Mediterranean Basin to Cyprus.

Habitat
This orchid prefers dry and wet meadows, pastures, thickets, clearings and scrubland, frequently on clayey substrate, from full light to partial shade, at an altitude of 0–1,200 metres (0–3,937 ft) above sea level.

Cow in ambush? Or just cow in bush?

I want to say something witty about the cart before the horse but I'd probably just make an ass of myself.

Roads that steep ought to come with ladders.

I've never tried working with it but my wife gave me a beautiful olivewood cheese serving platter for Christmas last year. It's lovely wood, full of the sort of character that this tree promises.
