Modern concrete, glass and steel box architecture is such a contrast to older styles. Tha collection of what I guess are mid-rise beach hotels and condos looks so bald and uninspired by comparison.

It's rather plain and restrained as such things go, isn't it? I bet the inside is less so.

Yep. It’s not really why we imagined for this part of the tour.

Seems like we are all cycling in the rain

We seem to specialize in this. We’ve had a number of such experiences, arriving just before all hell breaks loose. There are few better feelings.

And we’ve lost our share too though.

Many years ago riding along the Main river I had a similar race with a storm. This was back in the day when I didn’t reserve a hotel in advance. I had problems finding a place to stay. I reached the hotel just minutes before the skies opened up and dumped a storm of near biblical proportions.

Rachael noted that too. I can’t tell from what’s shown here, but I suspect it’s a hooded crow - a bird I’m starting to see regularly here. If so, it’s not new anyway - I bagged one back in Sicily.

Does this count as a bird shot? Some type of harrier?

That lively tile pattern will wake you up even if the shower doesn't. And laundry, too!

I’m sure. I’d like to bike this way again someday, but you can’t do everything at once.

I still think it’s a pity you didn’t have a chance to head north from Trento. The bike trail is a newer dead flat converted rain trail to Bolzano, west to Meran, and north to Brixen. Gorgeous cycling.

Amuse-bouche. The term refers to a bite-sized hors d'œuvre offered free from the chef, but I've noticed lately that they've gotten larger and more elaborate.

Great collection of action photos…well done ✔️ Hope we’re able to snag a few pics tomorrow of the start area in Naples from my phone.
