Likely the female of the species.
10 months agoI sourced the boxes on Amazon and then shortened one set of flaps to reduce the overall size to 30x30x25. First time flight for the boxes and they survived nicely.
10 months agoSpeaking of your bike boxes. Those look very specifically sized. Are they the boxes your trikes came in? They sure look to be in good condition. This comment goes to the photo you posted of the boxes at the beginning of the journal . . .

10 months agoNot sure about this one. I wondered if it might be a thrasher, then saw the shot below. Are you sure it’s not the same bird?

10 months agoBoy were you lucky today! A cardinal, a pyrrhuloxia, and a Javalina!
10 months agoWoah! I’ve been watching for these in Tucson but have never seen one.
10 months agoThose are unique cacti. Scientific name Cylindropuntia fulgida or one of several common names. I knew it as chain fruit cholla back in the 1960s I guess jumping cholla has now become more popular. Fruits never become "ripe" but eventually either fall off, or attach to some unfortunate passerby to be spread and sprout roots.

I was drawing a complete blank on Mike Jacobson Sports Center. Ah, ha! I used to stop at Ted Walker Park for the bathroom. It was always available. Then it was permanently closed. I cared enough to send a message on The Loop's website. The reply said that the copper pipes had been stolen and reopening was indefinite. I don't suppose you noticed if the bathroom is now open?
