Good to see you’re on your way! Enjoy your November escape!!
1 month agoWe haven’t seen it up close in daylight yet but it looks like a much larger version of the Lions Gate Bridge. We ride across LGB often but no plans to ride this one!
1 month agoMany years ago, in my youth, I was in Lisbon for a week or so. I emerged from the very long train ride from Madrid into very muggy air (compared to Madrid - duh), but also seeing the Golden Gate Bridge. As a San Franciscan I was pretty weirded out there for a bit. I really liked Lisbon and would go there again.
Looking forward to the rest of your tour.
I don’t think we will be biking in when we return to Lisbon, nor will we be riding far to the ferry dock when we leave. It doesn’t look like a bike-friendly city at all, despite the e-bike tours we’ve seen.
1 month agoAnd warm but not too hot!
1 month agoIt’s our first time actually doing two in a year, if we don’t count Spain in November 2021 and then leaving for Italy 5 months after we got home.
1 month agoThere’s a reason we chose November! It’s the dreariest month of the year for us—too dark and wet to really enjoy outdoor activities but too early for snow sports (usually).
1 month agoGreat choice- blue sky and flowers!!
1 month agoNice post, Jacquie. This is the first thing I’ve read that makes me think I’d like to see Lisbon again. Our only visit, 27 years ago, was pretty nightmarish because the city was so difficult to bike into then.
1 month agoGood for you guys on your second tour this year! Feels like you just got back, and now you're off again. Looking forward to following along.
1 month agoIf it makes you feel any better about your choice to leave, it's dreary and pissing rain here the evening of the 30th!
1 month agoGlad you had an uneventful travel day (the best kind). We are really!! looking forward to reading your blog, since in just 5 more days we will be back on the "wet" coast dreaming longingly of sunnier warmer places to be.
1 month agoAnd I’m looking forward to following your trip!
4 months agoThis sounds wonderful, can’t wait to follow along. We are deep into mapping ourselves. We fly to Zurich in 10 days. Yikes! Totally unsure of exactly where we are going, as usual 😂.

The funicular was behind painted hoarding? That’s too bad.
