That’s the word for it, alright. A shame to just scarf it down.

Yes, I noticed that too. There was a second bench on the square, also filled with old guys. I assume the wimmenfolk are off hanging the wash or at the market, which is just as it should be.

The first thing I notice is that those "enjoying the day" are all old men. Where are the old women? I hope they are out riding their bikes, but I doubt it.

Yup. That one was especially for you. I’ve been feeling badly about the dearth of cow shots so far.

Cats are never excessive. Great churches in this place. Love the colours and shapes.

Thanks, Bruce. There’s certainly plenty to take in. A target for icy environment. I could have thrown in a cat photo too, but it seemed excessive.

It’s pretty phenomenal, alright - especially at this time of year. You really should check it out, but be ready for some hills. Also, come early and come in spring.

Perhaps Echium vulgare, viper's bugloss.

The spiral spray of flowers make me think it's a phacelia, but the closest one I've found, Phacelia campanularia, has more rounded leaves.

Bill?

What a great idea! I tried that, and I think she said they were cork oaks. Or maybe she was just cursing - it was hard to be sure.

It was worth it then.
