5 years agoYes, I noticed that too. There was a second bench on the square, also filled with old guys. I assume the wimmenfolk are off hanging the wash or at the market, which is just as it should be.
5 years agoThe first thing I notice is that those "enjoying the day" are all old men. Where are the old women? I hope they are out riding their bikes, but I doubt it.

5 years agoIt’s pretty phenomenal, alright - especially at this time of year. You really should check it out, but be ready for some hills. Also, come early and come in spring.

5 years agoThe spiral spray of flowers make me think it's a phacelia, but the closest one I've found, Phacelia campanularia, has more rounded leaves.

What a great idea! I tried that, and I think she said they were cork oaks. Or maybe she was just cursing - it was hard to be sure.
