Looks like fun times but where are all the people?! 😳 Hiding from Bigfoot?

I sated at Ryan's Wilderness Inn in 2015 on my Transam ride. It would have looked considerably different at that time due to the forest fires; you may find the following page interesting by comparison; https://www.cycleblaze.com/journals/buddy/day-52-fires-force-an-unscheduled-rest-day-water-is-precious-and-the-smoke-gets-heavy/ I'm enjoying your journal and reliving the memories, best of luck for the remainder of your adventure.

And bears. Good thing you didn’t see any of them, either.

The rainbow handlebar tape is new- two years ago it was brown. Goes nicely with the Pride-themed crosswalk on their corner.

Bummer about that crack. Hope it stays as it is and doesn't end up disabling Ruby and causing an early termination of your epic adventure yet again.

I hadn't heard about the 520 having been discontinued. Sorry to hear it, as it had great lineage and a long production run. I suppose bike touring is too niche, with correspondingly low sales volumes, to justify the cost of production for an industry behemoth like Trek.

Hi Dave,

Sorry about the crack! I hope the fix works!

Congrats on a zero day. You deserve it!

Love You,

Mike and Colleen

I am still optimistic the crack will not get worse and I will be able to finish. I am rolling out of Missoula tomorrow

Not the news you want to hear.

I purchased the bike new in October of 2021 so less than 3 years old
I was told the frame is under warranty still but that does me no good right now. The local Trek dealer said even if the could get a 520 frame (520 was discontinued last year) I would be stuck in Missoula at least 2 weeks

How old is that bike?

I like the handles on the front door of ACA HQ. Highly appropriate.
