That’s some steep going there.
Was watching the Tour de France and they were going up a 9% grade. Dang! That’s so steep!! And they didn’t have the packed panniers uou do. Brutal. Huffing and puffing for sure.

Sometimes, it’s so sweet we just can’t help but holler “WHOO HOO!!”
It also seems to be an indicator of steepness. And, since you are chain driven, chaining up” sounds like good slang for climbing up mountains on a bike.
