Thanks Peter for following along and for all your great comments. It's always interesting to get another perspective on a route I've done - glad you enjoyed both of our journeys.

That was a great journal, thanks. While I took some of the same route, my expiriences were a little different. Good but different.

You rode by my country house, a few miles from the Rosendale Bridge. I am glad you found Boice's Dairy. it is a favorite family spot. I am not sure the shielded part of the Kingston/Rhinecliff bridge is for bicycles. I ride that part myself, I have encountered few pedeastrians. It is much safer and I have never been ticketed.

I stumbled upon your journal, having done a similar ride. Lo and behold there you are walking around my neighborhood, Windsor Terrace in Brooklyn.

Hi Scott - I had breakfast at Historic Grounds - a great little place where everyone that came in seemed like a regular, almost like a Cheers-like coffee shop. The man pictured in the chair walked in and just took a table and chair outside. I was thinking he worked there and was setting up some outside seating for customers. But he only took a single chair and table and settled in - apparently for the whole day!

Yes, that's the spot! And I also delighted in the small roads between the lakes.

Scott - I knew from your bio on the "other site" that you had lived in Salem and always wondered if you might have known Michael as he's always been an avid biker. I think they lived in Salem in mid to late 80s.

We had lunch at Historic Grounds, the cafe with the guy sitting out front. He must always be there, because he was there today too. It must have just opened. We spoke with the owner and she said it was a new business, only open for about two months.

I definitely recognize this spot as well. Somewhere on Locke Road/Creek Road/Weeks Road. The best miles of the day.

I recognize this barn! I almost stopped to take a photo of it myself this morning.

I’m trying to roll forty years off these faces to determine whether I recognized them from Salem. I well might - I was living there at the same time.
