I STILL don’t “get it”!
2 days agoUnfit to serve, but he will serve himself..
2 days agoDo not enter without escort? Doesn’t sound like a Disneyland ride to me! (But, then, what kid knows what “disembark” means, and to this very day many, many, many years later I still “hear the speaker voice” saying this instruction! ( I had to be pushed off by an older gal who DID know what “disembark” meant…)
2 days agoWe made it. On exactly the day that we intended (10th August)Nice to meet you on our epic trip.
2 years agoThanks, Scott. Yeah it was pretty bizarre that's for sure. Getting old sucks, eh!? ;-)
2 years agoI’m sorry for you and for us, but it’s obviously the wise thing to do. I had a scare like this of my own a few years back and was sure I’d suffered a torn retina somehow, but an exam turned up no concerns and the condition cleared on its own fairly quickly. Good luck!
2 years agoThanks, Keith. I have gotten sensible in my old age, which sucks a bit but is probably for the best ;-).
Safe travels!
Karen
Hi Kathleen,
Thanks. I think I am going to close out this journal, maybe it's the journal that's bad luck ;-). But that doesn't mean I can't make another attempt at some point. :-)
Karen
Hi Mike,
Thanks. I agree. In my younger days I might have kept going but I am smarter now ;-)
Karen
Bummer, but any health related matter must be taken seriously, especially eye sight.
I look forward to your next ride.
Sounds like the best plan. That Yellowstone closure is crazy, and it just wouldn’t be worth seeing right now. I look forward to you restarting this journal again. Third time’s a charm they say.
2 years agoSorry to hear you're pulling the plug but it does seem the best and most sensible alternative. The Yellowstone thing just reinforces the idea.
2 years agoHi Karen,
The flashes have almost completely gone away. The floaters remain but I had lots of floaters before the happened and they don’t bother me much.
Sorry that you are going home but better safe than sorry.
Hi Genny,
Are you saying your floaters went away?
Karen
Floaters and flashes of light were my “uh, oh” clue when I was in the pool for water aerobics. Got out of there ASAP, walked the bike home 🫣, and called the eye doctor. I went to a retina specialist that afternoon who told me if I had not listened to my “uh, oh” clue, I would have had a detached retina and not the torn retina I did have. Our bodies are amazing and they usually are pretty “smart”.. Glad you are another “okay, Karen”..:)
