Saw the news about the tornado in Havana today, and am thinking about you. Hope you’re fine. Safe travels!

5 years agoWe will try and you two will LOVE Cuba!
5 years agoIt is weird. In Havana all the plugs were US style plugs but the farther out we get the more we see some of each style. We can’t figure out which way they are headed - to the US style or away!
5 years agoThe back story on this appliance would be interesting. My guess - something that came from Russia, which uses the same plugs as the rest of Europe. We actually ran into the reverse of this once in Europe - a microwave with a U.S. plug. I think the proprietors value more the principle of providing a luxury convenience than actually drying your hair or heating your food.
5 years agoGlad you are able to add the occasional update. Food is often a hit or miss thing, that is why we usually go for groceries or markets on our jaunts. Cuba looks fantastic, please keep maps, names of accommodations, etc so we can borrow next year. Probably we will try to replicate your trip next winter.
