Well, that's how they keep them from really getting dirty, but it is interesting how they all stay so clear and fresh. Even when there were bats flying around it didn't smell like bat guano, which is pretty stinky! I will see if I can find out for sure, but I'm guessing you are correct that they are all part of an underground aquifer and connected. Whatever, they are delightful and you should really come and try them out!

Was going to ask you how the cenote water doesn't become stagnant and dirty, you kind of answered already with the bit about the showers. I guess there must be a slow flow in and out thru the aquifir? Very odd, these cenotes.
Oh, and Happy New Year!

Thanks! I think his team needs more help than his toe! It appears to be improving so no doctor visit, ๐Ÿ˜Š

We hope you got a chance to catch the coug game yesterday. Leslie and I are both really worried about Jim's injury, hope you've had a doctor look at it. Caught up on your journal, so to bring Jim good luck am off to turn on the Michigan game (Go Blue, go!). Crossing our fingers that he's going to be ok.

Wow, it's a real-life tropical paradise! When you had first described cenotes, I had pictured some tiny little muddy pothole, so I was thinking: "Wow, she's really desperate for a swim." Now I get it.

I had assumed the place was probably lousy with cycle tourists. No?
