About the fried eggs- can one get them to do easy over?

Cycleblaze can be confusing sometimes, between the "Type your comment here"" and the "Post Reply" kind of stuff. But though you commented on life jackets three times, I am still curious about the bike locks...

that's why I write these blogs (both here and our other one) - so we can go back and relive our experiences. So many times we find something that we didn't remember!

Ya, that's funny. When we were there you could, at a price of course, rent a lifejacket but nowhere had them as mandatory.

In each cenote we tried this time out life jackets were mandatory. Do you think this is some sort of new regulation? We found they wanted to ride up toward your head, were uncomfortable, and impeded swimming. Did you run into this?

Also, what were you using for bike locks? We are thinking to bring lesser/lighter locks next time. Just didn't feel much threat.

Dodie is finding being read to comforting. But she only wants your blog!

Re-reading bits of your blog now. Though it's three years later, we are right in sync with the season. It's Dec 23 in the blog and Dec 22 (2021!) here now. Somehow I don't remember this bit near Chichen Itza, so it's basically all new!

Dodie likes the photos. I am rereading your blog to her to keep her mind off the painful broken arm.

I loved being able to follow along, next best thing to being there. Thanks so much for sharing your trip!
And I'm sure the blog will be a great way for you to look back with font memories. See you in the states!

How wonderful you are able to do that! The freedom to move to a different place for a while is a great thing, and I'm betting you will find tons of great places to cycle there.

Hahaha! Shiver is right! Thanks, Steve. It is a funny thing about keeping a blog - I really enjoy writing it and Jim is so good with the pics, but you are right in that it is time consuming and at times frustrating depending on the wifi available. However gratifying it is (and it is very!) to know how much others enjoy reading it, we really are writing these for our future selves so we can go back and remember what the heck we did when we were on the road! Looking forward to seeing you both!

Thanks for taking the time write up full descriptions of all that happened. We know it's a big drain on resources of all types, but skimpy blogs with a few pictures, maybe not captioned, are maddening. By contrast, a full description is satisfying and helps the reader really feel like they are along for the trip.

Still, we are looking forward to a more extensive debriefing as you shiver your way down to us in the next two weeks.
