But, remember you are on a bike and those things weigh a bit. I've done it in the past and will do it again however but maybe a little further into our trip.

4 years agoAs long as the hot tub doesn't have any cryptosporidium ..
The presence of certain microorganisms could interfere with the process of Enlightenment.
This post was like a targeted advertisement for a future Grumby tour*. Peaceful setting, birdsong, greenery, smooth roads, giant mango tree, kind people, fascinating culture & history, nice accommodations, delicious food, and all very affordable!
*Except the live snake.
A shot well worth the wait and the numb legs, I'd say.
So cool you got to watch the offering set-up too.

4 years agoRemember, the Myanmar government is largely made up of corrupt, ignorant and paranoid thugs who want all the money for themselves. To them having a non corrupt foreign entity in their midst would open themselves up to scrutiny as well as taking in less cash. I don't believe these same government officials want any tourism at all in Myanmar. Corruption functions best when it is isolated from the world.
4 years agoIn the past I have eaten whole frog (one gulp), rat, dead fish (like the kind you pick up on the shore after a few days of rotting), bat and other things I can't remember at the moment. I ate all this stuff to be gracious toward my host. But, for some reason, I think I'd have to be really hungry to eat chicken from a can.

I love the bike path. Also, it looks you're enjoying some well-deserved good weather in Thailand.
