This is why we tell you you would like Thailand.

I started with Lao back when we were doing our book project. It’s simpler with fewer letters but similar enough to Thai that I was able to learn Thai eventually. I am not a fluent reader, still a “decoder”.

I was just reading your new posts today when I saw the name "St. Olaf College." I guess it caught my eye because I don't see many Minnesota references on Cycleblaze (assuming you were referring to the St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN.) Bruce, were you an "Ole?"

I'm not a St. Olaf alumni or anything, but I live less than 35 miles from there, and I visited the campus quite often back when I was in the paint business. And what a beautiful campus it is. It's one of the nicest I've seen, and way nicer than the campus of crosstown rival, Carlton College--an equally prestigious school.

Well, I've gone on long enough. If you were part of a different St. Olaf College group that went to Thailand, I apologize.

It reminds me of a vintage medical clinic. "Ok Ron, bend over. This is gonna hurt you more than it hurts me."

On one hand, it's always good to see successful farmers. On the other hand, tobacco.

Beautiful. The colors here all work so well together.

This is all so amazing. It’s like you’re taking two completely different tours.

The girl's hair is kind of cool. But, goggles?

Well, I guess if she's going to protect her eyes from whatever moisture is coming her way, it makes sense to cover her shirt with plastic too.

The Walking Streets sound like First Friday or that type of event that US cities have.
You mentioned that you were the only tourists at this event. Do Thais treat you differently as token westerners than the Burmese? I know Thailand gets far more tourism.

I'm impressed. How would you even start to learn?
