Ah yes, just from internet snooping I infer Didier's cafe is the Pascaline, on the Gravenstein Hwy N. From the photos in Google Maps, the pastries look really good!
4 years agoSo much better than riprap (those big jagged rocks) but maybe not as good for shore protection. But does the riverbank really need protection here? Gardens are so much nicer!

4 years agoThey’re surely storks of some kind. By distribution and frequency, they’re likely Asian Openbills.
