The Chiang Mai area's lum yai are famous for being the biggest and most delicious in all of Thailand. Most of them are exported to Hong Kong where they fetch a high price and are prized by Chinese. But these that we were given were just as big and tasty as any I've had in Chiang Mai. Thank you to the generous woman who gave us this gift. They were a real treat for us.

This is a great lesson for me .. I might be too tempted to focus only on hurrying along to get out of the eat ASAP.
Of course I never say a word. I just enjoy the birdsong and unusual landscape and hum nice little tunes to myself. And I try to keep my tires on the white line where it is smoother. No big deal, really. I enjoy riding up hills in high heat too.
