Nearly got the whole animal, but he slithered off the path too quickly. Still, if I only got a piece of him this was pretty good.

Great to return from a road trip alongside beautiful rivers to this post.

What a spectacular place!

I probably would end up with a mouth full of bugs from my jaw dropping at every turn.

Well, OK. I’m not a car guy so I didn’t know. It does look like Watkins Glen is famous for more than its amazing park.

Watkins Glen State Park? To me, Watkins Glen is famous for the race track. Several US grands prix were held there back in the glory days of Formula 1. I’ll have to look up the park and check it out!

It once occurred to me to visit as many US places called Lincoln, which is my hometown in the UK. I did spend a night in the Nebraskan namesake, but I imagine there must be lots of other Lincolns in the USA due to the fame of the President.

The UK name originates from Lindum, which is what the Romans called the town. It later morphed to Lincoln.

Pabst isn't sold in Taiwan, but Bud is here, as is another global giant - Heineken. From what you infer, I imagine they taste the pretty much the same.

When I lived in Canada, it was Labatt Blue that seemed most popular. It wasn't for me.

Taiwan Beer draught/draft pilsner isn't too bad - it's sold in bottles that have a roughly 10-day shelf life. However, the Taiwan Beer sold in blue cans is similar to Heineken.

Could. It’s what Rocky uses, but in my experience talcum powder works better.

Might I suggest chamois cream for your derriere problem, Scott?

Hey, thanks for the reference (and for following along)! I was gratified to see that the route they recommend around Keuka takes a different way between the two branches to avoid a ‘wickedly steep climb’. Obviously they must mean Culver Hill Road. We’d have been crying if we’d been riding the other direction yesterday.

Keuka is a great lake to ride around. 35 mph for cars most of the way. Cayuga good too decent shoulder. Roads in between lakes are much calmer. Go to FLCC finger lakes cycling club website for detailed routes.

I thought PBR was known the world around. One of America’s finest products, like coke and twinkies. Actually, the beer scene has been a pleasant surprise here. There are local craft breweries all over the region I’ve never heard of.
