Yup, I agree. I ended up walking a lot of cobblestones with the bike just because it was so hard to ride. A big group of us from here locally flew into London in 2017 and rode London to Brussels for 5 days, and hit pouring rain a couple of days. Riding on cobblestones in rain is definitely not for the feint of heart! By the say, I signed up for CycleBlaze for journals. Jeff sent me a note that he would gladly put up my journals on cgob to CycleBlaze, all I needed to do was send him the links to the journals. I do hope that he will just copy them from crazy guy and not remove them. Loving your new tour.

Great choice on taking the train. Sorry you’re having such lousy weather. We’ve been very lucky. Today it’s raining but we have a day off the bikes.

I don’t recall seeing it, and it’s the sort of thing that I think I would notice

It’s an art filter setting (key line) on my Olympus OM-DE5II camera.
It’s a mirrorless 4/3 system camera, about 1/2 the size of a conventional DSLR and about 90.% or more of the picture quality.
I love this camera!
Note that all the pics I’m posting here I’ve cropped and shrunk so they are only ~20% of the size ( and quality) of the originals

In 1990, there was an old church that sat right next to the "new" Mercedes building, which was left standing, half bombed out. Is it still there?

Whoa!!! NOW that has changed since 1990!!! OMG, in 1990, it was just a shack there with the name Checkpoint Charlie!
