St Andrews is past latitude 56 degrees, further north than the whole of the USA, China and Japan. As a matter of fact, further north than the whole of Western Europe and all of Canada's major cities. So 22 degrees Celsius is warmer than usual for the locals.
1 year agoI enjoyed the ride! Thanks for sharing!
1 year agoWait.... It's AUGUST and the high is 22C??? I've been thinking of doing the Land's End to John O'Groats, and had no idea it doesn't get warm in the summers.
1 year agoI use a Panasonic Lumix GX85 body with a Leica 100-400mm lens. This combo is small enough to fit into my handlebar bag but is workable for wildlife photography. The tracking AF on the body is not great but the lens is pin sharp.
1 year agoMay I ask what kind of camera you use? The pictures are amazing!

1 year ago"The town to the west that is above the sea". Makes sense.
4 years agoWeston-Super-Mare If I can recall my schoolboy Latin of 60 years ago it means Weston above the sea, maybe the town was built on sea cliffs?
(You can tell that I am in lock down reading old journals!)

Hi Mike. That's for that tip. I'm leaning back towards it being the chainring bolts. I have greased them well and tightened them but noticed that they were loose again. Tightening them again made the creak disappear ... for a short while ! So I am guessing they that slowly work their way loose. As far as I can tell from reading up on the 'net, this is one of the most frustrating types of noises to pin down.

You could also check that the cranks are tight on the square taper shafts.

Thanks Kathleen. I've had a great time photographing the puffins and fulmars.
