That, or protection from an invasion from below. Looks like a scene from Dday.

Nice, but just think how great it would look with one silver crank.

And this is where we'll part ways. Your remaining route diverges from what I covered two years ago, when you leave town.

"I think a seven week trip is too long for me.This has been a good trip, with not too much adversity. But sometimes there's a tipping point where the trip isn't about exploring new roads and instead it's about finishing the planned route. This is a shame, as it's a beautiful area of the country."

I reach that point about at three or three and a half weeks. I agree about it being a shame when you mentally switch from "sit back, relax, smell the roses, enjoy the ride" to "Only X more miles top go. Only X-1 miles to go. Only X - 2 miles to go..."

There weren’t any narrow spots, the shoulder was nice the whole way. Traffic was moving fast though. Unless the area you are talking about was the construction zone near New Meadows? Or, it could be today’s route. We are apprehensive about today, being Sunday and people returning to Boise after playing at the lake. Strategy is to leave early and hopefully beat the rush. Bonus for us is that we are on the downhill, it should be fast.

I hope we already passed the narrow canyon you are talking about.

I can't believe you biked Highway 55! We drove that road north from Boise last year. I was driving and towing the trailer. There were some really narrow winding spots in a canyon which freaked me out.

I know! He said the turkey was huge, all puffed up with its tail feathers out. I guess that’s the point, to be intimidating?

Where’s Jacinto’s photo of the vicious turkey?

I bought the expensive $1.99 Salted Nut Roll today. Then we went to the Dollar Store. They had only Paydays, $1.40. I don’t like those.

Wayne Estes is on tour right now. He tried one. He didn’t say I made a convert though.

They are another one of those tastes good when touring items. Fig Newtons are another one. Those are little calorie bombs.

"Jacinto says I've been talking them up too much, and I've made the price increase. "

You converted me from Payday bars. The Salted Nut Rolls are much more tasty.

The only downside: Unlike Payday bars, they do melt a little in a hot handlebar bag.

Jacinto was so happy you agree with him - that was his reason for eating them!

Turn 'em into penicillin. They're most of the way there already, anyhow.
