I like my protein but that’s gross!

I declare you ‘Wonder Women’! I used to like climbing but Great Britain has killed that for me. It has way too many climbs at 14 to 25 percent!

How appropriate but I’m guessing the movie is about motorcycles!

Just a note for the future: I hear that fishing worms are an excellent source of protein. Filleted and fried is the recommended preparation.

Yes- exactly! One week in, two weeks in, I was surprised how long we had been on the road. We had slipped back into the touring routine and all was good. I think once we crossed back over the USA border, I felt like I was ready to be home. Maybe a piece of that was having already visited Ione/Newport a couple of times before.

I was telling Jacinto just now - imagine - we will be home soon and not living out of panniers. He was just digging around, looking for salt/pepper packets that 'have been traveling with me this entire trip'. He found them. I kind of like living small. I don't mind rotating the same two shirts day after day. I spoke with a woman once who did a month long trip and she said when they got home that she literally burned her clothing (they lived in the country and had a burn barrel). I asked if she couldn't just wash those clothes and put them in the drawer for later. No! She never wanted to see them again!

You may never get the chance again! :-)

Yup... Hard lesson to learn! If you get a chance, do it!!! Too many things have passed by because I figured there would be more or better (fill in the blank) pictures or samples or whatever. Good on you this time!

Overall, there haven't been many flowers this trip. At first I thought we were too early and it was too cold. There have been a few times I've seen flowers and thought I would photograph them later. Never to see them again. Like these. If I hadn't stopped, that would have been only chance. They were also on the other side of the road down by the lake.

The chances of me breaking a crank are nil to none! Jacinto seems quite happy with his mismatched cranks - they are like a badge of honor. He has, however, been trying to gather up some extra miles, because he missed out riding that day and he doesn't want me to have more miles than him. Yesterday he rode ten extra.

Another new one to me... Maybe CA corn lily.
