And it is a pretty big climb. If you were fine on this you should be feeling good about your conditioning for the tour.

I really love this road. Almost every mile along it is amazing.

I’d love to see this spot again, but we’re usually gone for the year by the time it’s warm enough here.

Too much sky makes it appear downhill.

As if! Let’s hope this does make them at least think about doing the right “deed”…

Mike Ayling commented on Idaho? Weren't you going back to Europe?

Yes, airfares are at eye watering levels ATM and Jacinto's medical bills would have hurt the hip pocket. Good decision to stay local this year.

When are you starting your tour?

There are not many north-south routes in Idaho, Highway 95 is pretty busy but if I remember well it has shoulders. There is a nice rail-trail from New Meadows down to Weiser, but it is unpaved and pretty rough in places. Pretty though. Another much more remote route would be to go from Lewiston to Enterprise, Joseph and Halfway. Then across Hells Canyon to Cambridge and onto US95 there. Development around Caldwell and Nampa is indeed everywhere, you avoid all this by going through Parma to Homedale and Marsing. We would love to have you guys visit though, if we are still home (planning to leave on a trip early July) we could pick you up and return you to your route a couple of days later.

Thank you for the invite. We are going to be very close! At the least, we could do dinner? Let's stay in touch. We are looking at all of that urban build up around Nampa, and are thinking to try and swing west and south to stay more rural. We are open to routing suggestions that include indoor lodging every ~50 miles.
